Alaturka Media Network ("Alaturka", "we") respects your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect when you use alaturka.com, how we use it and your choices. Türkçe: Gizlilik Politikası

Information we collect

Visit statistics. We use our own counter to understand which pages are read and where readers come from: the page visited, the referring site, device type and an approximate location derived from your IP address (country, state, city). We do not store your IP address; to count visits within a day we use a one-way, daily-rotating anonymous identifier. These records are deleted after 180 days.

Google Analytics. We also use Google Analytics to measure traffic. Google Analytics uses cookies and processes data under Google's own policies. You can block it through your browser settings or Google's opt-out browser add-on.

Information you send us. We receive the information you provide when you:

• subscribe to our email newsletter (email address, state and interests)
• submit an obituary, correction, news tip or event (the form contents, photos and your contact details)
• post a classified ad or add a business to our directory (ad text and contact details)
• contact us via WhatsApp, email or social media (your message and contact details)

How we use it

• To prepare and verify news, events, classifieds and directory listings
• To send the newsletter if you subscribed (every email has a one-click unsubscribe link)
• To measure and improve the site
• To prevent abuse and spam

Phone numbers in classified ads are not printed on the page; readers are redirected when they tap "WhatsApp" or "Call". We do not sell or rent your personal information.

Sharing

Your information is processed only by the infrastructure providers we use to run the service (Cloudflare for hosting and security, Google for traffic measurement), and may be disclosed when required by law. Some pages embed third-party content such as YouTube, Instagram or maps, which are governed by their own privacy policies.

Cookies

Alaturka's own counter does not use cookies. Google Analytics and embedded third-party content may set cookies. You can delete or block cookies in your browser settings.

Your rights

To access, correct or delete information we hold about you, email info@alaturka.com. California residents can exercise their rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) at the same address. You can unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time.

Children

Alaturka is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect their personal information.

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. The current version is always on this page.
